Challenge    

Peter Berry was engaged to facilitate the Asia Pacific region’s Strategic Planning session in early 2010. The business needed to put in place a five year strategy for Asia Pacific and for each of the four regions, followed by one year plans. CBRE also wanted to grow leadership capability to deliver the stretch goals.


Solution

Peter Berry facilitated a 3-day leadership and strategic planning workshop.   The first day focused on leadership using Hogan Personality Profiling and the Peter Berry 360 Degree Feedback in order to build leadership bench-strength to deliver on targets. This achieved personal and team awareness. It was complimented with one on one Coaching and the development of personal improvement plans.

Days 2 and 3 focused on developing the five and one year plans using our model of the One Page Plan, which is the executive summary. This is what we call the first tier of planning.  We then did the second tier of planning to break the numbers down into the full regions with the supporting actions to achieve the targets.

An execution strategy was agreed to ensure ongoing accountabilities and reviews.


Results

The Business planning session outcomes were:

  • Agreed five year and one year strategic plans for Asia Pacific and the regions
  • A communication plan to engage the organisation’s workforce
  • Each leader developed a personal development plan to help them execute the strategy.

The group has engaged Peter Berry Consultancy to partner with the organisation and will reconvene every 6 months with Peter Berry to review progress on the plan.
