The Hogan Development Survey (HDS) describes the dark side of personality – qualities that emerge in times of increased strain and can disrupt relationships, damage reputations, and derail people's chances of success.

The Hogan Development Survey describes the dark side of personality and concerns behavioural tendencies that are strengths under normal circumstances. However, when these behaviours are not being managed and/or are overused, they become problematic, often degrade leadership effectiveness and erode the quality of business and personal relationships. If these behaviour patterns are recognised, however, they can be compensated for through development and coaching.
